Privacy Policy
Call Your Mom is designed to help people stay close without turning their relationships into advertising inventory.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we may collect your verified mobile number or email address, first name, communication style, notification and privacy choices, invitation activity, and basic browser or device information. When you request support, we collect the contact information and message you provide.
Private in-app conversations, membership records, and invitation status are stored securely so connected users can see their conversation across devices. We also record content-free product events such as an invitation created, message sent, suggestion requested, suggestion sent or edited, and notification enabled. These analytics records do not contain the private message itself.
For signed-in users, favorite contacts, birthdays, anniversaries, profile sketches, themes, and other saved preferences may be synchronized securely across their devices. Visitors who do not sign in may have some preferences stored only in their browser.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, deliver private conversations and requested notifications, maintain consent and opt-out records, respond to support requests, protect the service, measure reliability, and improve Call Your Mom.
When a signed-in user taps to request suggested replies in a private conversation, up to 30 recent messages from that conversation are sent to our AI-processing provider to prepare four contextual options. These requests are configured not to be stored by the AI provider. Suggested text is not sent unless the user chooses it.
If you opt into suggestion improvement, we may use interaction signals—such as whether a suggestion was sent, edited, skipped, and when—to improve the product. We do not use private message text to train general-purpose AI models. If you separately opt into personalized offers, we may use preferences and engagement to select clearly labeled gift or sponsor suggestions. Both choices are optional and may be changed in Privacy Choices.
Safety reports
We do not routinely place private conversation text into the moderation queue. If a participant submits a safety report, we collect the report category and details. Recent messages are preserved with the report only when that participant explicitly chooses to attach them. We may use reported evidence to investigate abuse, enforce our Community Standards, protect people, preserve records, and comply with law.
Mobile information and sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties, except service providers and aggregators that are necessary to operate and deliver the messaging program, or when required by law.
We may use service providers such as communications, hosting, security, and AI-processing vendors solely to operate features requested by users. They may process information only for those services and subject to appropriate restrictions.
SMS disclosures and choices
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any Call Your Mom text to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not prevent a person you know from contacting you independently through their personal phone or messaging account.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we store a device-specific push subscription so we can alert you when a connected person sends an in-app message and, if you choose, send gentle reminders that open a fresh note for someone in Your People. Reminder notifications name the selected contact but never contain a private message. Nothing is sent to a contact until you review the note and tap Send. You may change reminder frequency in your profile or disable notifications through your browser or device settings.
Rewards and shipping
If you choose to redeem hearts for a physical reward, we collect the recipient name and shipping address needed to fulfill that request. We do not ask for this information until you choose a reward.
Your shipping address remains private. We share it with a shipping or fulfillment provider only after you explicitly agree, and only for delivering the reward you requested. Reward fulfillment providers may not use it for their own marketing.
Retention and security
We retain account and private-conversation records while an account uses the service, and for a limited period afterward where reasonably necessary for security, recovery, disputes, or legal obligations. Consent records may be retained to demonstrate and honor user choices. We aggregate or delete product analytics when they are no longer needed for the stated purpose.
Access to private conversations is restricted to their members. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information associated with your mobile number, subject to records we must retain for legal and compliance purposes. Submit a request through Support.
Children and changes
Call Your Mom is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes and will post the updated effective date here.
